アンリ・フラション

アンリ・フラションは、パリを拠点とするフランスの彫刻家兼インダストリアルデザイナーです。1986 年にコルシカ島で生まれ、タヒチで育ちました。リヨンのクロード・ベルナール大学で物理学を学んだ後、エネルギー分野で数年間働き、2019 年に ENSCI –レ・アトリエを卒業。同年から「穴」に関する研究を開始しました。これまでに武内経至やジュン・ヤスモトと協力し、2020 年にはアウディ・タレント、2021 年にはヴィラ・ノアイユの受賞者となりました。また、2021年にアントワーヌ・ルシャルニーと共にパレ・ド・トーキョーで「Abstract Design Manifesto」を発表しました。彼の彫刻作品は、ヴァロリス・ピカソ美術館、トリエンナーレ・ミラノ、パレ・ド・トーキョー、ヴィラ・ノアイユなどで展示され、フランスの国立コレクションにも収蔵されています。

Henri Frachon

Henri Frachon is a French sculptor and industrial designer based in Paris. He was born in 1986 in Corsica and raised in Tahiti. A former physicist from Claude Bernard University in Lyon, he worked a few years in the field of energy before graduating from ENSCI – les Ateliers in 2019, starting the same year his on-going research into holes. He has collaborated with Keiji Takeuchi and Jun Yasumoto. He was laureate of Audi Talents in 2020 and Villa Noailles in 2021. He launched the Abstract Design Manifesto with Antoine Lecharny at the Palais de Tokyo in 2021. His sculptural work has notably been exhibited at Vallauris Picasso Museum, Triennale Milano, Palais de Tokyo and Villa Noailles, and is part of French national collections.

花崗岩に穴をあける作業は手間がかかります。そこで、私は単純な円形の穴を組み合わせて、特定の形を形成する方法を考えました。穴によって作られた内部のパターンが外部の輪郭を決定します。2つの穴は長方形、3つの穴は三角形、4つの穴は正方形、5つの穴は円を生み出しています。

Creating voids within a block of granite can be time-consuming. To address this, I have developed a method that combines holes to form specific shapes. The internal patterns created by the holes determine the external outline: two holes form a rectangle, three holes create a triangle, four holes shape a square, and five holes generate a circle.
